Subnetting Basics

For some, sub-netting can be as hard to learn as a new language.  Even the reason for sub-netting  can be lost in all the tech jargon.   Taking the process of sub-netting one step at a time is the best way to learn.   TechRepublic has a great article on the basics of subnetting.  Cisco IP subnetting 101: Five things you should know In addition, the article has some great links at the end that are great resources for those that may be working on their CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certifications.

Educators Rejoice !

In today’s on-demand, information-consumption-centric landscape, learning never stops, and it appears as though the folks at Microsoft have finally begun to dedicate an abundance of resources to assist learning professionals worldwide.

Yes, it’s true…. Microsoft has begun to use their search engine, Bing, as an influential learning tool.

Bing has received great reviews from global technical gurus over its response and its rate of returning relevant search information.  To take Bing even further are the new features offered especially for educators to improve the entire classroom experience.  Teachers can now take students on a 3D tour of historical places, view the human body down to the DNA level, interact with executives in a Wall Street boardroom, and much, much more.

These new educational provisions are sure to improve student attention and retention, ultimately making educators more effective.   Microsoft has put together a great guide on how to implement Bing in the classroom and we would love to hear some feedback on their efforts !
