Educators Rejoice !

In today’s on-demand, information-consumption-centric landscape, learning never stops, and it appears as though the folks at Microsoft have finally begun to dedicate an abundance of resources to assist learning professionals worldwide.

Yes, it’s true…. Microsoft has begun to use their search engine, Bing, as an influential learning tool.

Bing has received great reviews from global technical gurus over its response and its rate of returning relevant search information.  To take Bing even further are the new features offered especially for educators to improve the entire classroom experience.  Teachers can now take students on a 3D tour of historical places, view the human body down to the DNA level, interact with executives in a Wall Street boardroom, and much, much more.

These new educational provisions are sure to improve student attention and retention, ultimately making educators more effective.   Microsoft has put together a great guide on how to implement Bing in the classroom and we would love to hear some feedback on their efforts !

Run Windows Based Applications on a Mac

If you have ever wanted to run a Windows based application on a Mac but don’t want to go to the trouble of running Bootcamp or a virtual version of Windows. Check out WineBottler. It allows Windows based applications to run on a Intel based Mac OS X computer. It is similar to Wine, software that allows Linux users to run Windows apps. Please note that this software is still in BETA and not all applications work.
